Scott J. Cipinko is an attorney with more than 20 years of national and international experience in corporate and regulatory insurance law. He in the Principal of the Law Offices of SJ Cipinko, LLC located in Marietta, Georgia, where he works with insurance companies, insurance agencies, premium finance lenders and other entities involved in insurance and related industries in regulatory, compliance, corporate and legal issues. As an additional service to his clients, Scott has formed SJC Consulting, LLC, also located in Marietta, to work on lobbying issues on behalf of his nationwide and international client base.
Scott was Of Counsel to Lord Bissell & Brook, LLP from 2005 -2006 and at that time and also served as Executive Director of the Life Insurance Finance Association (LIFA). As the first Executive Director of the Life Insurance Finance Association (LIFA), Scott delivered key testimony before state insurance regulators and legislators and played a key role in the defeat of regressive legislation that would have impaired the ability of consumers to secure financing of life insurance policies. During his tenure with LIFA, the organization adopted a Statement of Best Practices for the Life Insurance Premium Finance Industry.
From 2002-2005, he served as Executive Director for the Life Insurers Council (LIC) and Vice President for Life Office Management Association (LOMA), where he had primary responsibility for all activities and services to the LIC Membership by the staff. During this time, Scott testified as an expert witness before state regulatory and legislative bodies; represented the industry in Washington, D.C. before Congress and Federal Regulators, the NAIC and the NCOIL; and drafted pleadings, including amicus curiae briefs. From 1993 to 2002, Scott served as the first Executive Director of the National Alliance of Life Companies (NALC). Prior to that, he was General Counsel and Association Secretary for the Consumer Credit Insurance Association (CCIA). Scott served as Associate General Counsel Office of the Special Deputy Receiver, the State Liquidator of Insurance Companies.
Scott started his law career as an Insurance Consultant, specializing in coverage and loss analysis determination.
He is also co-founder of MSC and Associates, Inc., an insurance agency licensed in Georgia, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota.
He has spoken to professional groups throughout North America and has published his first book: How to Get and Keep Your First Job (Hint: You Can Begin in High School).
Scott has earned the designation of Associate of Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC) from Life Office Management Association.
